Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.
-- Author:1 Corinthians 13:4-7
came across this while browsing the books in borders.
it's interesting to note the above:
after "protects", comes "
trust".
I believe that even when you have someone whom you want to protect from harm and danger, someone whose existence is of such importance to you that having this person injured would hurt you too and you'll do simply anything and everything to keep this someone from harm and injury; you have learn to trust that person too.
Without trust, there's probably nothing in the relationship that can hold two people together.
Would you ask the person you love to give up what he/she loves or enjoys for you?
And would you allow that same person to have such expectations from you too?
Or would you rather not; because you don't want your special one to give up what makes him/her happy even though it would mean you'll risk getting hurt badly if anything bad should happen. not to mention the fact that you'll never be able to rest those worries until you are sure that person's safe from danger.
I think I understand the anger that came after the relief, on realisation that the person you love is safe. The anger that brewed from the unceasing worries, the fears, and the disappointment felt when the one you love did not heed your advice and has chosen something else over you instead.
But the question remains:
Can you do it too?
oh yes, and i particularly like this:
"it keeps no record of wrongs".
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.for all the right reasons?

Now that it's all said and done,
I can't believe you were the one
To build me up and tear me down,
Like an old abandoned house.
What you said when you left
Just left me cold and out of breath.
I fell too far, was in way too deep.
Guess I let you get the best of me.
Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know.
I'm slowly getting closure.
I guess it's really over.
I'm finally getting better.
And now I'm picking up the pieces.
I'm spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together.
'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through,
I got over you.
You took a hammer to these walls,
Dragged the memories down the hall,
Packed your bags and walked away.
There was nothing I could say.
And when you slammed the front door shut,
A lot of others opened up,
So did my eyes so I could see
That you never were the best for me.
Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know.
I'm slowly getting closure.
I guess it's really over.
I'm finally getting better.
And now I'm picking up the pieces.
I'm spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together.
'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through,
I got over you.
Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know.
Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running

I'm slowly getting closure.
I guess it's really over.
I'm finally getting better.

I'm spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together.
Well I'm putting my heart back together,
'Cause I got over you.
Well I got over you.
I got over you.
'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through,
I got over you.
